Often times we want this life to be black and white. We want things to be simple, but life is in color. Learning to live in color is all about balancing the good and bad to keep a positive and Biblical mindset at all times.
We are all human and often times have struggles in our minds that we never share with anyone else. It's important to detox your mind and this happens first, by reading the Word of God and prayer. We can't do this on our own. Christ is our Savior and through him we can do all things.

I don't have a New Year mindset, I have a New Day mindset. It's nothing wrong with celebrating NY, but I don't believe in adopting the thought processes behind the holiday. I actually think it's dangerous in regards to our purpose.
You have to shift your mindset and only you have the power to do that. Giving yourself too much time cause you not to try as hard. So, when we give ourselves an entire year to resolve something, we typically fall off and forget about it by the due date.
So, we conveniently create new resolutions that we get excited about for 15 days or so before we give up on those too. The cycle will continue until we start realizing that the Lord grants new mercies daily.

God called us to the Work: So many times we want the reward without the work.
Moses, Joseph, David, and even Jesus showed their Faith through their works. There are no shortcuts in Faith. Read all through the Bible and you'll find story after story where someone had to exercise their Faith by their works.
You also don't see work done in vain that glorifies God. So, the opposite is also true, Work without Faith is Dead. I think this is very important for the believer to understand that work is not enough. Our Faith in Christ matters.
Don't chase a prophetic word because you want God to be a fortune teller. That's a slave mentality at it's core.
Remember, blessings don't always look like what you expected.

Why Jesus didnt seek Fame (Don't Make Jesus Famous ...or making Jesus Famous)
I think to understand this we have to explore our relationships with celebrities
Had Jesus sought after fame he wouldve became a celebrity figure
Pscyhologically being a celebrity impacts your relationships with people and how they react to you
Jesus was with the people....many of the Biblical interactions....woman at the well....woman who touches the hem of his garment....man healed at the gates...
These are personal interations....not an event....not a meet and greet after a concert....but a real life unscripted occassion...someone having an experience with Jesus...where he listened to them....spoke to their specific needs...where he knew them
Our relationships with celebrities are much different...we scream out..."i love you" and they screm back "i love you too" but we all know that u fit in a category of "fan" for them...they dont really know you...
A celebrity doesnt doesnt take interest in who you really are...
You have established a Parasocial relationship with them...a one sided relationship where u know everything about them...fav colors....kids names....u literally love them because u think u know them...meanwhile they dont even know u exist on this earth
Meanwhile Jesus sought to have a real relationship....he wanted people to know that he knew them and wanted them to know him....he asked questions to his disciples like...who do you say that I am?.... Jesus wanted them to know him for who he really was....not just the figure that was gaining popularity...
Although he would become famous...he never bought into the celebrity...we never read where he spruced up his image to gain the interest of the masses....where he showed up as the star of the show...the crazy thing is that he was the star....he was literally God that we should worship....and yet God had humility...
God came in on a donkey....he didnt want the flash of the limelight because he was here for relationship and God knew that if he established himself as a celebrity it would be self fulfilling...
He didnt come here for himself because he was already whole...he came here for the people....and needed the people to eatablish real relationship

- Stop waiting for things to get easier, just try
3 reasons why things don't get easier (1. Because we are on Earth (not Heaven) 2. Because we are human and have flaws, not to mention free will to sin 3. Life isn't scripted
We need to establish a Foundation of Faith (We are children of God and will be challenged in the area of Faith at some point in our lives)
- Writing down our goals and making plans is cool, but we need to submit those plans unto the Lord
- The Power of Social Influence (Great book overall, share my review)
- There are reasons why we react the way we do and we must be educated in order to protect our overall health and well being.

A Thanksgiving Prayer | Inspire God's People

Happy Thanksgiving God's People!
In this special episode, J'Wil shares what he is thankful for and says a Thanksgiving Prayer.
Music from today's show includes 1. Thankful by Darius James FT. D'Shondria Perry 2. Tia's on the couch by Read B Verses
Show Notes:
What am I thankful for? Family for sure, growth - It's a blessing just to have the opportunity to grow. I'm thankful that the Lord has kept me in the midst of challenges.
It's been a year of many "tests" and I mean this in the literal sense. So many friends, family members, and even myself have had to go through serious tests for health related issues. My boy Meech said something yesterday that was simple, yet deep..."Mortality is so humbling".
Pray for those who struggle during this season because they tend to think about loved ones who have gone home to be with the Lord. Let the memories be great memories today and let them focus on the love. This is of course easier said than done, but I'm praying that it's at least easier than usual for those people today.
Lord lead us into this next season of our lives. Be our guide...literally. Make it plain for those who are feeling as if they can't hear your voice right now. Let them know that they are not alone. Help them to see your plan and trust it, even though it doesn't look the way they expected.
In Jesus name, Amen

BYOB: Be Your Own Boss
- We tend to think the idea of full time entrepreneurship will be easy, but I'm convinced it's actually tougher than having a job
- At a job, you have a certain level of security and you have people laying out objectives for you in most cases. You don't have to be as self motivated
- BYOB is about motivating and challenging yourself, which in a sense represents a certain level of freedom.
3 things to take away
1. Stop letting people boss you around (take control and live a life of purpose)
2. Work as unto the Lord (as a believer we should be focusing on honoring the Lord with our work. This takes the focus off of money and/ or opportunity and helps with #1 (purpose)
3. Don't quit your day job (until you're ready) : It reminds me of the NBA trend in the 90's of going to the league straight out of high school. Superstars like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett are the rare success stories. For most players they needed college to develop their skillset. For many entrepreneurs a day job is like college and it helps develop skillsets.
